YWCA appoints Shannon Nagy new Executive Director
With more than 15 years of nonprofit experience, most recently as Executive Director of Hutch Kids Early Learning Center in Seattle, Shannon is settling in and looks forward to getting to know our community—especially the donors, partners, volunteers, and advocates who share YWCA’s mission. She’s excited to listen, learn, and build strong relationships as we continue this work together.
Board Perspective
“Shannon brings deep nonprofit experience and an inclusive leadership style that embodies YWCA's mission. Her commitment to transparent board-staff partnership, collaborative decision-making, and strategic vision stood out throughout the search,” said President Becky Kettner on behalf of the search committee and board of directors. “We are thrilled to welcome her steadiness, problem-solving skills, and community-focused leadership as our next executive director.”
About YWCA Walla Walla
Shannon joins YWCA Walla Walla during an important moment in the organization’s long history of service and advocacy. Founded in 1917, YWCA Walla Walla is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.
The organization’s Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Resource Center provides emergency shelter, trauma-informed counseling, advocacy, and support programs such as LiNC, a life skills program for domestic violence survivors. YWCA Walla Walla also operates two licensed early learning and childcare centers, My Friends’ House in Walla Walla and RoseMary’s Place in Dayton, along with enrichment and leadership programs that strengthen families and expand opportunities.
Looking Ahead
“YWCA Walla Walla's legacy of safety, dignity, and empowerment for women and families is extraordinary,” Shannon said. “I am honored to join this community and partner with the staff, board, and supporters to advance this work.”
