It was a night to remember.
The Foundry Vineyard was hopping with live music by Kate and the Crocodiles, and 200 guests enjoyed food from Olive and wine from Foundry Vineyards. All under a beautiful full moon.
Whitman College men’s basketball coach, Eric Bridgeland, was a fabulous auctioneer.
“His passion for the mission inspired everyone!” said Anne-Marie Zell Schwerin, Executive Director.
Eric and Jet Titus were a peerless duo, keeping guests laughing while they drummed up bids, even after the second, “going, going” call! The Live Auction alone raised $19,750 (including a $2,000 winning bid for a Tom Selleck poster).
The day of the party, YWCA staff were surprised by an anonymous donor who challenged party guests to match a $25,000 gift. The match was announced before the heartstrings pledges, and attendees opened their hearts and their wallets to meet and exceed the match.
Dozens of Walla Walla businesses and individuals donated auction items, and wineries donated nearly 100 bottles for the wine wall. (At party.ywcaww.org, click “Donations” for a list.) And when you shop, please let them know how much their YWCA support means to you.
Event sponsors, Banner Bank and Columbia REA, helped cover party expenses so your winning bids could go right to work for women and families.
“Our amazing Believe committee keeps raising the bar with exciting auction packages,” said Anne-Marie. “And our wonderful community continues to share their love with us.”
