Systems Advocacy
The Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WSCADV) is the leading voice to end domestic violence in Washington State.
Get updates on the most recent legislative session in Olympia. Find out what your representatives can do to ensure that the support survivors need is adequately funded.
As a partner of the National Network to End Domestic Violence (NNEDV), WSCADV tracks federal policy around the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA), Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and more.
Direct support of local women and families is key, but our clients also need us to change unjust policies and laws that keep them on the margins and get in the way of their ability to thrive.
That’s why YWCA advocates also work for long-term, systemic change. This includes engaging with elected officials, supporting equitable childcare and housing policies, and ensuring survivors’ voices are heard in decisions that affect their lives.
The YWCA Action Center has a tool for reaching out to your representatives in Congress so you can ask them to support YWCA programs and services that help their constituents build strong futures!
